Empowers BlackPlanet.com members to support the African American community. Charity partners include: Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer and Prevention, VCares and Hope's Voice

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, December 1, 2006 - BlackPlanet.com, a social network with over 14 million registered members, today announced a partnership with the Ralph Lauren Cancer Center, VCares and Hope’s Voice, all organizations dedicated to supporting the African American community.   • Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention - a community based center for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer through new models of patient care, research, education and outreach designed to address the unique needs of the community.
  • VCares - a project of VIBE magazine, a hurricane Katrina Relief effort created in response to the apparent and overwhelming need for ongoing financial support in the gulf coast.
  • Hope's Voice - a national HIV & AIDS organization committed to promoting the education and prevention of HIV & AIDS to young adults.

The launch of the partnership coincides with World AIDS Day - Friday, December 1st, 2006.
