COMMUNITY CONNECT INC. RAISES $15 MILLION IN THIRD-ROUND FINANCING

Key Investors Include Sandler Capital Management, Comcast Interactive Capital, JUMP Investors, and ConnectCapital

New York, NY -- Community Connect Inc., publisher of ethnic online communities AsianAvenue.com and BlackPlanet.com, today announced it has raised $15 million in third-round financing from major venture capital and strategic media companies.

Sandler Capital Management, a communications-focused investment management firm specializing in telecommunications, Internet, media, and entertainment, led the round. Other key investors include Comcast Interactive Capital, JUMP Investors, and ConnectCapital. Comcast Interactive Capital is a venture capital fund affiliated with Comcast Corp., the third largest cable services provider in the U.S., JUMP Investors, led by Randall Kaplan, co-founder of Akamai Technologies, is an active investor network of Internet entrepreneurs and business executives, and ConnectCapital is the Asian investment vehicle for Insight Capital Partners.

"This round of financing from leading venture capital and media companies is a testimony of Community Connect Inc.'s position as the leading new media company targeting U.S. ethnic affinity groups," said Ben Sun, CEO.

The proceeds of this round will be used to continue the extraordinary growth of Community Connect Inc.'s sites AsianAvenue.com and BlackPlanet.com, which are the highest-trafficked sites targeting Asian Americans and African Americans respectively. In addition, the funds will be used to launch a site targeting U.S. Hispanics and develop its services and e-commerce revenue channels.

"There is increasing validation of the U.S. ethnic marketplace. Targeting Asian Americans, African Americans and Hispanics represents an incredible growth opportunity and the Internet will be the preferred media channel," said Sun.
