Job Purpose/Ojective
  • Solving usability issues using tools such as user personas, conceptual models, interaction and user interface patterns, user testing and surveys, prototyping, and wireframing
  • Continuously becoming better by learning, mentoring, researching, and developing the next generation of applications
  • Participating and mentoring in the weekly user group meetings
  • Collaborating as a part of a customer group, participating in the planning meetings, and taking ownership of the quality of the end product
  • Develop user centered solutions working collaboratively in a cross functional team environment

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

  • Strong passion for improving the way sites work to meet the needs of users
  • Experience with building web based community tools
  • Experience with the challenges of developing large web applications
  • A strong understanding of technical aspects of dynamic website development
  • 4+ years as part of a User Experience Team (Information Architect, Usability Engineer, Interaction Designer or HCI background
  • Ability to conduct client and target audience interviews/analysis
  • Solid knowledge of industry practices and deliverables
  • Adept at doing research and conducting of usability studies
  • Understanding of all other major components of web development such as visual design, labeling and nomenclature, technology implementation and strategic positioning
  • Ability to take all learned information and create a site or system's skeleton, mapping out the paths and task flows users will
  • Strong foundation in web site production concepts regarding XHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, DHTML, server-side scripting and other dynamic web site technologies

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies, such as Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum
  • Experience working with and documenting interaction/UI patterns
  • Experience leading and mentoring individuals and teams

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Education Requirement:
  • BA/BS Degree

Minimum Experience Requirement:

  • 4+ years as part of a User Experience Team (Information Architect, Usability Engineer, Interaction Designer or HCI background)
