Job Purpose/Ojective

Work with cross-functional teams of Marketing and Sales and lead design projects assigned by the Associate Art Director or Director of Production from concept to creation. Will work closely with the Associate Art Director and will be responsible for mentoring junior designers. Work primarily with an interactive media including but not limited to: banners, full page interstitials, microsites and other web promotion vehicles. Additionally, work in other media such as print, video and photography.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Follow the design and production standards determined by the Production Department
  • Incorporate direction from the Associate Art Director to accomplish project goals and objectives
  • Understand the creative brief and design standards of CCI and implement into projects
  • Ability to incorporate an understanding our member experience, industry trends and competitive analysis into projects
  • Successful completion of multiple projects from concept to creation under tight deadlines
  • Work well with other designers, copywriters, project managers and developers in a collaborative environment
  • Active participation in design department meetings
  • Ability to complete an assignment independently with minimal to no supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities while ensuring best practices in web design, usability and accessibility
  • Ability to forecast duration of projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to give direction and mentor Designers

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography and limitations of the web
  • Strong knowledge of software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash
  • Strong creative skills coupled with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to lead projects from the concept to creation
  • Ability to conceptualize full project life cycle
  • Ability to apply the user interface and interactive design best practices, including image optimization and site mapping
  • Understanding of online advertising trends
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to mentor junior designers
  • Understanding of the U.S. ethnic market a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Education Requirement:
  • BFA or Associates Degree in Design/Related Field

Minimum Experience Requirement:

  • 3-5 years of web design experience
  • 1-3 years of pre-press print production
  • Excellent production skills
  • Knowledge of HTML, DHTML CSS, and Actionscript

Additional Experience a plus:

  • Experience with art directing photo and video shoots
  • 1-3 years of pre-press print production
  • Experience with Adobe AfterEffects and editing video
